.. the art of bed-rest ..

So our little Teagan seems to be just a little too excited to meet us all. Unfortunately I woke up this morning with some cramping that seemed to be occurring in a consistent pattern. Let's be honest, I thought it was probably just gas and kept playing it off. After a lot of nagging from my hubby (who I Love like crazy)... I FINALLY called the midwife. She met me at her clinic, checked me and monitored for contractions for about an hour. Turns out I was having mild contractions. Boo! They weren't anything too crazy, but she said I'm to do nothing for the next week. And by nothing she means NOTHING. I'm allowed to get up to pee, but thats the extent of what I'm allowed to do. Which really stinks because I was all ready for some serious marathons to the kitchen for super bowl tomorrow! But Teagan needs to cook for one more week before she's full term. So in the bed I shall be...

Normally I'd be STOKED to be able to lay in bed and watch old movies all day! Turns out it's a bit of a drag. I've only been on bed-rest for one afternoon and I'm already bored out of my mind. Not only that, but poor Cian is wondering what the heck is going on. It's breaking my heart not being able to play with him like I usually do. THAT has been the hardest part so far. Just not being able to do our normal stuff together. Thankfully, I have el hubby to take over for the weekend. Cory will be Mr. Mom for the next few days... and then my mom and both of my sisters will take over while I veg. Cory and I have decided that I'll stay up in Spearfish for the week so I can have my mom take care of us while he's at work. I'm already dreading being away from Cory for a whole week, but it'll be the best thing for the baby in the long run.

So yeah, if you all can be praying that Teagan just stays put for at least another week, that would be awesome. And pray for Cian and Cory too. And also, that I don't go crazy.

Shannon,
I am so glad you are where you need to be. So you and Cian and the little lady can chill and be taken care of. In the near future you will probably wish you could just veg out:)!!We are so excited for you, and love you guys, and are constantly in prayer for you guys. We are here if you need anything or if Corey needs a meal while he is bashing it here in Rapid:)
God is so amazing with these little babies of ours, and I am sure you are more then excited to meet Teagan. She's gonna be as beautiful as her mommy I am sure:) So excited for our girls to be buddies....
Keep us updated and hang in there:) Your fellow mommy-to-be, Destri

Think of it this way.. you are going to be so busy once that girl comes out... so enjoy this last week of relative peace & quiet. I definitely know it's hard. I stayed in bed all day one day when I had the stomach flu & I got so bored also. You feel like you are wasting time.. etc... but KNOW that you HAVE to do this. TRY to catch up on some books, write letters, learn something new (online) and my recommendation is abc.com -- free episodes!! xo

Shannon,
We are in desperate prayer for you and Teagan so that she will be full term. It seems like she wants to make her birthday sooner. Stay in Bed and get spoiled because after wards it gets a little crazy but a fun crazy. After having Cian and the long hours there wouldn't it be great for a fast one with Teagan. Please know you are prayed for constantly as well as our Cian--the funny boy he is--and of course Cory who I am sure he is wishing to be there with you but as said we are thankful for a loving and supporting husband and family there. Wish we were there to help. You can lay on the couch and still watch the game, right?
Love ya all tons,
Tammie
