Comings and Goings and New Toys

The family came from out west, to our little Grand Rapids apartment. The small quarters allowed for good times in front of our new 30inch, widescreen, HDTV (the exact one that dad gill got us). Fun times. Fun people. Fun toys.

We drove to my first home town and hung out with my folks. We didn't get to Mackinaw (as was the original plan) but we did get to Baynes Apple Farm for warm cider and carmel apples. It was much the fun and much the eatin'.
A weekend in Midland and we were back in GR. One day for the girls to shop and the next...we hit up the zoo. (There's Taylor sharing smiles with some species of gator.) Unfortunately the rain (and the off season) took many desired-to-be-seen animals out of the park, but we were still left with some good kinds (eagles, cardboard k oalas, grizzlies, mountain lions, penguins, and a tide pool full of tropical* specimens).

The family departed and we miss them indeed. We look forward to our Christmas time rendezvous which is fast approaching. Now...the job hunt...

*there is no evidence that they were tropical
